Trip to Yellow Bottom

Well it is the middle of November and I am planning on taking a day trip up to Yellow Bottom this weekend. Shouldn't be too many people so hopefully I'll have time to check out some old stomping grounds and taking a few photographs along the way. I am sure the water level is a lot higher than it was just a couple of months ago. Should be a awesome time up there. Check back with my blog frequently for any new updates. If I am lucky might see a little of the white stuff!!. I have the back of my van loaded with some good firewood, so looks like I'll take time to have a nice cozy campfire, thinking about sitting around a nice campfire roasting a couple of hotdogs and enjoying one of the most beautiful places around!!.

Home Sweet (Camping) Home!.

Here is an up close an personal view of my Mom and Dad's home away from home, with their dog Lindy. All the comforts of home in the outdoors. So stop on by and say hello if you see us!!.

An old campsite!.

Here is a photo that I took one morning while taking my parents dog for a long walk. This old campsite (ghostsite?) is on a logging road, it is about two and a half miles from our campsite, as you can see this campsite has been unused for quite some time. There are some areas where camping is no longer allowed, this campsite is one of them.

A different view of te camp area.

I decided to go across the road and up near the top of the mountain in this photo, as you can tell this is an area that has been clearcut in the last couple of years. The RV and car in the photo are my parents. If you look closely you can see my minivan through the trees.

Great little fishing spot!

This photo is of a great little fishing spot, just a short little walk from our campsite, have caught many of a good amount of trout in this little spot.

Digging in for a couple of weeks of prime time camping

Here is a photo of our campsite(s), as you can tell we had quite a family get togeher.

This is what it is all about!!!.

This is what camping is all about, the beauty, peace and serenity of being away from the everday concrete jungle!!. Life doesn't get any better than this!!!!. It is certainly the best place to be with family and friends!!!.

Heart of the campsite!!!.

The "Epicenter" of our campsites. This photograph was taken at the "Epicenter" of our campsites, this is our cooking area, the heart of our campsites!!. Pictured in this photo from left to right (Left) nephews girlfriend "Alecia", (Center) my Mom and (Right) my sister Connie!. My Mom and sister are seen here preparing one of the evening dinners. We eat very well when we camp!!!. Never a shortage of good eat's!!.

Anyone like Horseshoes?.

Anyone like Horseshoes?, we spent a lot of time at the Horseshoe pit pitching the "shoes", had quite a few serious tournaments!!.

Taking time to relax!!.

One morning during our camp trip I took a moment to take this photo of my nephews girlfriend taking a little break enjoying a good book and the comfort of the campfire!.

Some of the wildlife!

I decided to grab my camera and go for a little walk one morning, I shot this picture of a Grouse in the camp area, she didn't seem to be to concerned by my presence!!. So I snapped this photograph, believe it or not Grouse are pretty dumb!!.

Brother and his son taking a little break!.

My brother and his son Quinton taking a little timeout to look for snakes!.

Life is wonderful!!.

Where is Everybody?, is it time to get up?.

My sisters home away from home and her Pug (Lucy) wondering if it was time to get up?...NO it's to cold!!.

Family hanging around the campsite!.

Here is a photograph of family gathering at our campsite in the evening. From right to left: My cousin Rick and his dog (Sadie), my sister and her dog (Lucy), my niece (Kim) and her boyfriend, at the far right kind of in the photo is my daughters boyfriend (Davage). After a long day of having fun it is nice winding down in the campground talking about the days events.

My brother taking a timeout to do a little fishing!!.

After sluicing and gold panning my brother decided to take the opportunity to do a little video and photography. This is one of our favorite spots to swim and fish!.

Plenty of noise with this beast of a machine.

Here is a photograph of a major piece of logging equipment making it's way down the road. It was fascinating watching this big beast in action!. This thing can really do a job!!.

Camping trip summer 2008

Well things have certainly changed since my last blog. For those of you who are familiar with the "Old Miners Meadow" up at Yellowbottom you are familiar with the scenic changes for sure. My weeks camping trip saw lot's of changes at our old stomping grounds. We had a large contingent of family and friends who spent one or two weeks camping up at Yellowbottom. During that time we saw lot's of landscape changes. The trees across from the campsite no longer exist, as they have clear-cut the once denses forrest of trees. It was quite a shock, doesn't quite look the same. While we were camping there was a lot of logging going on during my week up there. Monday-Friday seemed to start off very early every morning with the sound of logtrucks and logging equipment. It was sad seeing the once proud stand of trees no longer there. Kind of a depressing site for sure.
The photo here is my parents RV and car in one of their favorite campsites in this campground area.

Sorry that have not updated sooner!.

Hello,

I want to apologize for not updating my site sooner, lot's going on and I to be honest haven't really checked my "blog-site" in quite sometime. However I thought that it was about time to update my "blog-site".
